The
XM Radio Prowlers dropped their 2nd game of the
season, with a late night match up against the Red
Devils on Monday. With a 10:15pm start time, the
Prowlers looked good early on, with quick feet and
strong forecheck. Dave Parrott got his first of the
year with a terrific effort to bulge the twine 12
mins into the frame.
After swapping goals in first period, XM took a 2 goal lead with goals from Brendan Wilson and Peter Koulouris. But that was about all they could mustard as the late start caught up to the boys, as fatigue set in resulting in a rash of penalties and few scoring chances. The Red Devils tied the game heading into the 3rd and then took the lead and added a couple empty netters to seal the Prowlers fate.
"We'll regroup and come back strong on Saturday" said team captain Chad Scott.
Star defenceman Greg Clark suffered a shoulder injury in the 3rd after falling hard into the end boards. Greg is day-to-day and well be re-evaluated prior to Saturday's game.
