As a Farm Team fill in last season, Trevor McLean
worked his way into a Full-time roster spot with his
hard nose play and the in your face, take no
prisoners attitude.
Last season McLean missed out on an opportunity on a full-time spot and didn't make the team. Something he blames on a communicate breakdown with his agent. His wife was relieved of her "agent" duties and promoted to training the next upcoming McLean.
With Trevor taking care of his own business, the big guy was the most reliable farm team call-up of the season. Playing 20 games and gathering 9 goals and 13 assists for 22 points. More than a point per game. But most notably McLean lead the team in PIM's with 40 minutes over those 20 and was fourth in playoff scoring with 3 goals and an assist in 3 games.
"I just come out and play hard" says Trevor. "Sometimes that involves being a little physical, and in this league when you play physical you're walking a fine line."
Trevor crossed that line a few times last season and already at times this year, but GM Chad Scott doesn't mind too much.
"We're a pretty small team compared to others, so when a guy like Trevor uses his size he brings a needed element to the team." says Scott. "It's a physical game, but as long as his play isn't a detriment to the team, we don't mind."
The Big Man hasn't potted as many goals as last year, as the team has stressed the defensive end first, but his 8 assists is good enough for fourth on the team........ but his 26 penalty minutes is once again near the top.
