Army Downs Scott & Co

The XM Radio Prowlers dropped another game Wednesday night, falling 7-4 against Arnies Army. In what was most likely his last game, Chad Scott and the Prowlers fell victim to crummy officiating once again.

General Manger, Captain and founding member of the Prowlers Chad Scott played laced the skates up for one last time on Wednesday, only to be ejected from the game halfway through for 3 minor penalties. All 3 penalties were very questionable and had Scott fuming.

"If I would have known I was going to get thrown out for love taps and just standing by our net and would have made it worth while and taken someone's head" said Scott

With Dean Kuntz taking the start over Mike Howie, the Prowlers got off to a good start scoring first on the powerplay, when Colin Giles found Steve Hopson in the slot and pocketed his career high 10th goal of the year.

After surrendering 2 goals to Army, call-up Colin Kim picked up a loose puck on the side boards, broke in and snapped a shot far side to tie the game at 2.

The officials and the late start time seem to wear on the Prowlers as some sloppy play at times caused them to allow 3 straight in 2nd. During which Brendan Wilson was ejected from the game after retaliating to two cross checks in the head.

XM kept their heads high and were a determined bunch, especially Daryl Goeson who picked off an Army pass late in the 2nd to break in and score.

The Prowlers stayed in the game when Colin Giles, perhaps having his best game of the season, ripped an uncharacteristic slap shot from the top of the circle to beat the goalie for his 3rd of the year.

However, that effort and others fell short on the night as the Prowlers dropped another and further down the standings with a 7-4 loss.

"It was a tough one" said Giles "We've gone through numerous personal changes in a short period of time, and I think the team is having difficulty adjusting and finding a new identity"

"I'm disappointed that's how I went out" said Scott after his last game "I would of liked it to have been a more positive and productive game, instead the refs decided otherwise"

Jeff Duncan and Colin Giles will replace Scott has co-gm's for the remainder of the season.
