The
XM Radio Prowlers started their 2007-08 season this
past Friday with a 9-1 thrashing of the Wingnuts. The
win kicks off the campaign to repeat as division
champions and to better the team's 23-8-1 record from
last season. The new top line of Peter Koulouris,
Brendan Wilson and Jay Young proved their worth
gathering 7 points between them. Young lead the way
with 3 assists. Forward Trevor Hay and defenseman
Steve Hopson also had 3 points in their season debut,
each tailing a goal and 2 assists.
The "Proshop" line of Taylor, Hay and Buder were equally as impressive, gathering 6 points, each with at least a goal. The Prowlers were dominate from the opening faceoff, with a hard forecheck and tape to tape passes that were in mid-season form. The defence and goalie Mike Howie were hardly challenged and had a relatively easy night.
All 15 franchise players were in attendance for the season opener, rolling 3 full forward and defensive lines.
