Sweet November

The
XM Radio Prowlers capped off a perfect month of
November with a 5-3 win over the Kodiaks Friday
night. The Prowlers won 5 straight games in the month
and are on a 6 game undefeated streak.
In a game that was marred with brutal officiating, Mike Taylor broke his slump and scored 2 powerplay goals while Chad Scott, Daryl Goeson and call-up Caine Lacusta each added singles as the Prowlers continued to dominate the division in 1st place with 19 points.
With the game already at 1-0, Taylor made a Crosby-esk move on a Jeff Duncan pass, diving beside the net and putting the puck 5-hole for a 2-0 lead. After giving up 2 quick goals at the end of the 1st and early in the 2nd, Prowlers captain Chad Scott showed off some quick hands on the half boards to deke two Kodiak defenders and snap a quick shot short side for his 3rd of the year.
The game then got out of hand as the officials wanted to be more involved and made some seriously questionable calls, resulting in some vocal communication from some Kodiak players and 56 minutes of total penalty time for the opposition, including a fighting major when a hot-headed Kodiak dropped the mitts and took some swings at Tim Mooney. Mooney kept his composure and didn't get sucked into an unnecessary suspension.
Taylor got his 2nd of the night at 5:17 of the 2nd period, picking up a Mooney rebound for a easy tap in to the wide open net. Daryl Goeson was credited for his first of the year a few minutes later.
Back-up up goalie Dean Kuntz was hardly tested, but was solid when he had to be, backstopping XM to their 5th straight win and an undefeated record for November. Will the streak continue on Thursday against the EV Allblacks?
