The XM Radio Prowlers had their lunch handed to them
Monday night suffering a 5-0 loss to the Goodfellas.
The lackluster effort was their 2nd straight loss and
the Prowlers haven't won in their last 3.
Along with only 10 players taking the ice, the Prowlers are missing their top 4 leading scorers. Tim Mooney and Pete Koulouris are lighting up the ice in Greece, Brendan Wilson is out with a knee injury and Pat Dogherty is in California and his return is in doubt.
The leading active scorer is now Trevor McLean with 6 goals and 8 assists in 16 games. A stat that has XM concerned, considering they have only scored 4 goals in their last 3 games without the young guns.
Rumour has it that GM Chad Scott is on the waiver wire and frantically searching the minors for some scoring support.
"We're missing our entire top line" says Scott. "Show me a team that can overcome that and I'll show you some champions."
"We just need to battle hard every game and make the most of what we have. If we can find some help putting the puck in the net and it makes sense for the team then we'll obviously bring them on board."
Scott was asked if he had any particular player(s) in mind.
"I can't comment on any individuals that are not on our roster. Next question."
The next question might be can the Prowlers get it done without the their young stars? They may have an answer next Thursday against division leading Japanada.
