After playing to a 4-4 tie versus Tribe Canada Monday
night, General Manager Chad Scott revealed he was
stepping down from the position during the post-game
Prowler press conference.
Citing an overwhelming pressure to perform both on and off the ice, Scott thought it would be best for the team if he stepped aside.
"I think it would be best to get a fresh pair of eyes and some new ideas into the organization" says Scott.
The Prowlers haven't been the same since winning the division championship in 2006-07. Although last season the team made it to the semi-finals, the loss of key players such as Greg Clark, Mike Taylor, Tim Mooney and Pete Koulouris has the team reeling with a 9-11-2 record.
"I would like to thank the organization for making my time with the Prowlers some of the most enjoyable of my career. This was a tough decision for me to make, but it is what is best for the team at this point"
The team's leading defenceman will stay on with the team as a consultant and will play one final game next Wednesday against Arnies Army before relinquishing the GM position and the captaincy of the team.
Alternate Captain Jeff Duncan and Colin Giles will take over the team on an interim basis for the rest of the season.
