Mike Howie turned away 22 shots Friday night to
record his 2nd shutout and 8th win of the season, as
the Prowlers defeated the
River Sharks 2-0.
Trevor McLean got the game winner and Pat Dogherty
added insurance in the 3rd.
Fresh from his annual escapade into the wilderness, McLean broke the 0-0 tie in the 3rd with a powerplay goal at the 7:42 mark.
"It must have been the moose jerky, said McLean. Or having most of my liver removed shortly after the trip made me lighter and quicker. You'd be surprised at how much those puppies weight!"
McLean's recent success has other team members considering the same procedure.
"Mine is useless anyways" said winger Dave Parrott. "Anything to get a leg up on the competition."
The Prowlers have gotten back on track, winning their last 3 games after dropping 3 in a row. Their recent performance as powered them to a 8-3 record and back on top of the division standings.
They meet up with the White Hawks (5-5-0) this coming Friday.
