Prowlers Crash Madhatter's Tea Party

The expansion Madhatter's could not handle the Prowlers as party guests on Tuesday night. Hitting top gear from the opening face off the Prowlers used speed and a tenacious forecheck to take control early and then relied on a solid penalty kill, rock steady goaltending, and sublime team play to cruise to a 4-0 victory.

The line of Koulouris, Marcheen, and Dogherty got things going on a tick tac toe play with Koulouris tallying his second of the year. The line added another near the end of the first with Koulouris adding his third.

The newly formed 'Tolkien' line (Two Towers and a Hobbit) of Mclean, Hopson, and Giles worked well from the get-go also scoring in the first as Hopson found Mclean at the top of the crease for a tap in. Later in the third, with the Madhatters looking to make a push, an ill-advised pinch by a 'Hatter's D was exploited by Hopson and Giles as they broke in on a two on one. Hopson floated a beauty pass which was quickly buried by Giles for his first of the year.

The line of Duncan, Parrot, and Goeson created chances and stifled any Madhatters attack and may have been the most solid line of the evening.
The defense was moving the puck well and exceptional on the PK as Wilson, Mooney, Fonnyadt, and Bouwman provided a wall all game. Mike Howie was in fine form and snuffed out any hope the Madhatters had of a comeback with some big saves in the third to earn his first S.O. of the year.

The Prowlers look to keep up this hot start next Tuesday vs. the Hurricanes - a team we have not yet seen. With the Hurricanes 0-1 to start the year the Prowlers need stay focused and maintain their plan of attack.
