Prowlers Lose Nailbitter

The XM Radio Prowlers tried to bump their mini slump Monday night, but it was bittersweet. The good news was the boys in black played a game ten times better than Friday night, the bad news was they fell 6-5 in the last minute to the Evil Beavers.

In a game that started without the Beavers having a goalie for the first 5 minutes, they were the ones who struck first with a quick shot off the far post post beating goalie call-up Wayne Thomas.

The Prowlers struck back in the 2nd period when captain Chad Scott knocked down a clearing attempt to blast a slapshot low stick side for his first of the year. The two teams would then exchange goals for the rest of the game, as Jay Young, Mike Taylor, Peter Koulouris and Tim Mooney each potted goals.

The Beavers however, had a few lucky bounces including a flutterer, one off a shin pad and the game winning goal when the puck jumped out of Wayne's glove only to be poked into the back of the net for the 6-5 win.

The Prowlers however did get back to their signature forecheck that produced a ton of chances, especially for forward Dan Marcheen who had some glorious chances, but couldn't build on his goal from Friday.

XM now has another 11 days to regroup before taking on the Russell Brewing Bootleggers on Oct 3rd.
