Trevor Hay and Jeff Buder won't wear a Vancouver
Prowlers jersey again next season. The Vancouver Sun
reported tuesday the Prowlers have told the veteran
forwards that they won't be re-signed after 2 years
with the team.
Prowlers General Manager Steve Hopson thanked both players for their time with the club.
"I met with Buder and told him we would not be offering him a contract." Hopson said. "He wants to play again. I really think that he does have another year in him. I think he can play 10 to 15 minutes. I think he can play on the third string."
Buder, 43, had no goals and 1 assist in 11 games last year.
Hay's injury issues were the main reason he won't be wearing the black and yellow this September.
"I had some good conversations with Trevor since taking over," said Hopson. "I know he was on the fence about playing again, and was flirting with the idea of retirement. We just can't go through a Sundin saga, so we decided to part way. We wish Trev all tbe best."
Since taking over as GM in May, Hopson has wasted no time in rebuilding the former division champs. Having resigned 11 players from last years squad, including goalie Mike Howie.
