The Vancouver Prowlers Hockey Club won their 4th
straight Friday night with a dominating 6-1 win over
the White Hawks. Forwards Pat Dogherty and Ryan
Synder each scored a season high 4 points and Mike
Howie turned away 24 of 25 shots.
Dogherty broke out with a 3 point 1st period, setting up Brendan Wilson and Daryl Goeson, before snipping one of his own to power the Prowlers to a 3-0 lead after one frame.
After Jeff Duncan scored a beauty from the slot to increase the lead to 4, the boys in black fell back on their heels as the White Hawks turned on the offence with some high skilled forwards.
But their attempts were foiled by Howie, who by all accounts played his best game of the year. The backend also received a boost as former captain Chad Scott made his highly anticipated debut on defence.
Dogherty and Goeson then put the game out of reach as each pocketed their 2nd ginos of the night.
Scott was solid on the blueline with 2 shots, 2 pims and a +4 rating which included some quick stick work in the 3rd to foil a couple sure Hawk goals on a wide open net.
"It felt good to get back out with the boys" said Scott. "The team looks great this year, I'm glad I could contribute tonight."
The Prowlers improve to a division leading 9-3-0 record and take on the bottom dwelling Rodeo Clowns who have yet to win a game this season.
