The Prowlers returned to their winning ways this week
with a spirited 4-3 victory over the Mad Hatters.
Following a spirited pre-game presentation by Mclean
and Hopson the Prowlers came out flying looking to
re-establish their vaunted forecheck and erase the
past couple of weeks.
Daryl Goesen snapped the scoreless streak in the first after some strong forecheck work by Clark and farm team call up Sean Maclean (making his season debut). Less than a minute later Fonnyadt placed a shot into traffic and Dogherty tipped in goal number 2.
S. Maclean made it 3-0 with a nifty goal from behind the goal line and then scored what would be the eventual winner after Goesen chipped the puck to Giles in the corner who waited for Maclean to hit the slot and then made no mistake burying the pass.
A combination of a Mad Hatter forecheck and the Prowlers easing off the gas led to a interesting last half of the game. The score eventually flattered the 'hatters as the Prowlers had numerous chances to pile on.
Regardless, the mighty black will take a lot of confidence into their next match - the evening before Remembrance day.
At the post game press conference GM Steve Hopson reminded the media " We've always prided ourselves on our forecheck, strong D, and all world goaltending. All this talk of losing offense was just that - talk. It was only a matter of time before our depth and balance began to gel again and the results would follow.
Tonight was a perfect example of that. I expect this to be the norm and our players understand that."
