Ref Wins Game!

The XM Radio Prowlers lost a second straight game Friday night, dropping a 6-1 decision to Tribe Canada. But the scoreboard wasn't the main story line as the infamous "frenchie" referee made his season debut and promptly stuck it the the Prowlers.

In the first period, XM was all over Tribe as all three lines were clicking and had the momentum in their favour. Despite outskating their opponent, the Prowlers gave up a shorthanded goal to fall behind 1-0.

The Prowlers quickly tied the game in the second, as Dan Marcheen finally broke his scoring slump, netting his first goal in over a year.

But that was as close as the Prowlers would get as the much despised Quebec official decided to make the game about himself and started antagonizing the Prowlers players with name calling and disrespectful remarks. This only angered the players more and the heated words started flying.

XM then played most of the remainder of the game short-handed and lost focus. Tribe Canada took advantage and scored multiple power play goals to take the 6-1 win.

Prowlers captain Chad Scott had no comment after the game and the players refused to talk to the media. Rumor has it the team will make an official complaint to the league regarding the official in question.

The Prowlers will put this game in the books and focus on Monday's match versus Evil Beaver.
